Modeled as recumbent Buddhist lions, their heads turned to the side, one with an open mouth revealing a set of sharp teeth and fangs, each resting one paw on a pierced brocade ball, covered overall in a bright turquoise glaze suffused with fine crackle and nicely darkening in the recesses. (2) Provenance: French trade. Condition: Good condition with old wear and some firing flaws, such as small firing cracks, the underside with minor glaze losses and few minuscule chips.
