A PAIR OF VIENNA-STYLE DARK-BLUE-GROUND SLENDER TAPERING OVIFORM VASES, COVERS AND STANDS, painted with continuous friezes of classical figures, one with Roman warriors seducing maidens, the other with a maiden kissing the arm of a wounded warrior seated in a pavilion and with another warrior and maidens in attendance, between seeded gilt bands and printed gilt scrolls, the square pedestals with canted corners and painted on each face with goddesses and cherubs, on flared feet (one finial re-stuck, wear to gilding), blue beehive marks, circa 1880 29¾in.
