A RARE .177 PRESENTATION BSA UNDER-LEVER IMPROVED MODEL 'B' AIR-RIFLE, serial no. 17205, for 1907/8, with 19 1/4in. barrel, dove-tailed fore-sight, elevating notch rear-sight, tap-action breech marked on the lever and retainer 'P. PAT', the top of air-chamber marked 'THE BSA AIR RIFLE (IMPROVED MODEL B), THE BIRMINGHAM SMALL ARMS COMPANY LIMITED, SOLE MANUFACTURERS', single pin trigger unit, cast trigger guard and front mounted adjuster, chequered walnut saw-handled butt-stock retaining 'piled arms' trade-mark on the left side of butt, the right inlet with an oval white metal escutcheon marked 'PRESENTED BY THE BIRMINGHAM SMALL ARMS CO. LTD. TO THE NATIONAL RIFLE ASSOCIATION BOYS BISLEY 1907, WON BY THE ROYAL MASONIC SCHOOL 1ST TEAM', the rear end of the same side of the butt also stamped 'RMS' over '4' together with a further illegible stamp, iron heel-plate and spade under-lever marked with 'LINCOLN JEFFERIES' PATENT', traces of stained blue finish throughout
