A rare, ascribed West Country Apostle spoon; St Matthew, of good gauge , the figure terminal with a pierced, spoked nimbus and traces of gilding on a tapering stem with a curved, fig-shaped bowl, berry mark in bowl, makers mark "R.M" struck twice on the back of stem, probably by Robert Matthew, Barnstaple circa 1635 - 18.25cm long, 2oz.
