Circa 1785 The case with rectangular trunk having small carved ears to the sides decorated with gold-painted foliage flanking the signature Benj:n Brock Bristol , the trunk door decorated with two oriental figures in front of a pavillion with pheasants flying above, the 20½in. diameter three piece oak dial with deeply moulded glazed door, Roman and Arabic chapters with later heart-shaped brass hands, the substantial movement with five pillars, five wheel trains, anchor escapement and rack strike on a bell, steel rod pendulum and two original(?) rectangular lead weights 4ft. 8½in.
