A RARE GILT-LACQUERED BRONZE FIGURE OF GUANYIN EARLY MING DYNASTY, SECOND HALF OF 15TH CENTURY Well cast seated in dyanasana , the left hand raised in vitarka mudra and the right hand in varada mudra , both holding a trailing lotus stem growing to blossoms by the shoulders, the neck and chest adorned with jewelled garlands, the hair fashioned into a high chignon behind a five-leaf tiara, the face with a serene expression, lacquered overall in reddish gilt 12 in. (31 cm.) high
