Louis Olin The mahogany master unit with moulded cornice hinged and glazed front with commemorative plaque, the pendulum with solid brass bob, charged through the knife-edge suspension, towards the centre of the rod two pivoted arms with brass contacts, the upper side of which is insulated with a leather pad, when in motion the brass contact slides over pivoted silver contacts providing impulse to the pendulum via the c-shaped solenoids and iron plates to the back of the pendulum, there is a shelf for a Leyden jar (lacking) which is connected to the silver contacts, the slave unit standing on a heavy ebonised oak base, with simulated marble effect to the skeleton frame, the movement with thick cut wheelwork, and escapement linked by chains to two paddles activated by the cloth-bound solenoids at either side of the frame, there is also a second unit of carillon type which may have driven a quarter chiming mechanism (or possibly a digital display) Slave unit 46cm (18in) high,
