A rare William IV period Paul Storr silver travelling toilet box set, 19th century. The brass bound wooden case inset with brass carry handles is decorated to the hinged cover with with a boulle style foliate, laurel wreath enclosing a central cartouche with engraved cypher and opens to reveal a burgundy leather and velvet lined interior housing three large rectangular, reeded clear glass scent bottles with silver tops and two smaller cylindrical, faceted clear glass powder jars stored in a row behind a lift out tray revealing a discreet storage compartment for jewellery and accessories. The tray holds a shallow silver lidded, cylindrical cut glass powder jar, three silver lidded rectangular cut glass jars for powders and brushes, two with pierced and engraved floral and foliate decoration, two screw-cap hinged lid pots for lotions and a smaller unmarked silver topped scent bottle. Additionally, there is a hidden compartment for documents and letters internally incorporated within the lid. The original lock with key is in working order. Mark of Paul Storr London 1833 (bar the three small items on the tray closest to the back, two of which bearing marks for London, 1832 and a retailers mark for T. Briggs, 27 Piccadilly).
