A Regency brass and gilt-brass year-going mantel chronometer George Margetts, London No. 134. Circa 1800 The white enamel dial signed Margetts TWELVE MONTHS TIMEKEEPER 134 with Roman and Arabic chapters, large diameter subsidiary seconds at VI, blued steel hands, the movement with circular brass plates secured by four slender steel pillars screwed to the front plate and pinned to the back plate, very large spring barrel and long fusee with chain and indirect wind system to the side of the case, Harrison's maintaining power, the partially re-built wheel train carried to the front plate and now with a later platform lever escapement, the brass bowl with handle to the top resting on a gilt-brass foliate cast frame with lion mask to the centre and on hairy paw feet 10¾in. (27cm.) high
