A ROYAL LOUIS XVI ORMOLU-MOUNTED AND MEISSEN PORCELAIN-INSET, TULIPWOOD, BOIS CITRONNIER AND PARQUETRY BONHEUR-DU-JOUR Circa 1775, stamped R. LACROIX and JME , the Marcolini Meissen porcelain plaques associated and most likely cut from the small plates of a tea service, with underglaze crossed blue swords and an asterisk The superstructure with everted breakfront white marble top and pierced three-quarter ormolu gallery above a mirrored central section over a drawer, flanked by a door, each door and side of the superstructure mounted with a gold-decorated oval Meissen porcelain plaque depicting Loves of the gods, the outset top over a frieze-drawer with pink silk-lined writing-surface above a well, on tapering rounded legs and an undertier with pierced gallery, inlaid overall with trellis-work panels and banding, the porcelain plaques with paper label inscribed accordingly in ink Place face coté gauche demousé le 20 Mai 1949 , branded with a crown above three fleur-de-lys within an oval reserve, with a paper label inscribed in black ink No.614 , the stamp partially obliterated 41¼in. (105cm.) high, 26¼in. (66.5cm.) wide, 16½in. (42cm.) deep
