A Royal pair of mid 19th century gold Royal presentation bracelets containing portrait miniatures of Victoria, Duchess of Kent's grandchildren Both bracelets engraved with the presentation inscription 'To Mama From Victoria R. and Albert Aug 17 1846' to commemorate the Duchess of Kent's 60th birthday and each comprising seven rectangular flexible plaques, each containing an oval child portrait painted in watercolour and engraved on the reverse with each sitter's name and date of birth; the first depicting Charles Hohenlohe, Eliza Hohenlohe, Ernest Leiningen, Hermann Hohenlohe, Edward Leiningen, Victor Hohenlohe, Adelaide Hohenlohe; the second depicting Feodore Hohenlohe, Victoria, Princess Royal, Albert, Prince of Wales, Alice, Alfred, Helena, and Louise, circa 1840, 20.0 cm. long, French import marks, later fitted case A similar bracelet presented by Queen Victoria to her half sister, Feodora, wife of Ernest, Prince of Hohenlohe-Langenburg (née Leiningen) and containing portraits of the latter's children, was sold in these Rooms, 24 November 1981, lot 47.
