A RUBY AND DIAMOND RING
A RUBY AND DIAMOND RING The oval-shaped ruby, weighing approximately 6.17 carats, within a circular-cut diamond two-tiered surround, mounted in platinum, ring size 5 ½ Accompanied by report no. 87234 dated 17 August 2016 from the SSEF Swiss Gemmological Institute stating that the ruby is of Burma (Myanmar) origin, with no indications of heating Report no. CS 1077189 dated 25 July 2016 from the AGL American Gemological Laboratories stating that the ruby is of Burma (Myanmar) origin, with no gemological evidence of heat; also accompanied by a letter stating that the ruby of this colour have been described as having a "pigeon blood" hue. The ruby is a lovely example of why Burma is considered the premier ruby source. It possesses all the quintessential gemological characteristics that permit the acclaimed provenance of Burma and the Mogok valley to be determined. In addition, it possesses a fine make, which permits the gem to display its colour and inherent quality to its fullest. Gem rubies of such provenance, quality and size are rare US$60,000-80,000
