A RUSSIAN SILVER GILT SNUFF BOX AND A GROUP OF VARIOUS BOXES AND CASES, the first rounded and bowed rectangular, the hinged cover engraved with two lounging men in townscape, the base and sides with townscapes, with bright cut borders, the cover interior with Hebrew inscription-- Moscow, probably 1822-1855, assaymaster Nikolay Dubrovin (marks worn)--3¾in. (9.5cm.) long , a gilt metal coin purse, the front inset with needlepoint, the base with architectural miniatures inlaid in bone, the silk lined interior with pockets stamped OR, KOPEIK, RUBLES , and BILLETS DE BANQUE , with grille divider for note pad-- 4in. (10.1cm.) long , a silk and velvet line gutta percha box, decorated with raised floral cartouche and border-- 4½in. (11.4cm.) long a gilt metal chased scissor case -- 4in. (10.1cm.) long , a shaped rectangular card case, the back chased with flowering foliage and scrolls, front chased with Sir Walter Scott Memorial in Edinburgh-- maker's mark of N. Mills, Birmingham, 1847 , another similar-- unmarked , another, rounded rectangular, engine turned, gilt lined,-- London, 1922 , two shaped rectangular, first is engine turned-- Birmingham, 1855 , the second engraved with flowering foliage-- unmarked , and two small engraved snuff boxes-- unmarked the marked silver examples 13oz.
