A SET OF TWELVE MAHOGANY DINING-CHAIRS AFTER THE DESIGN BY JAMES WYATT COMPRISING A SET OF SIX ARMCHAIRS AND ANOTHER PAIR, LATE 18TH/19TH CENTURY, AND FOUR SIDE CHAIRS, 19TH CENTURY The set of six open armchairs, each with an oval beaded back headed by a foliate clasp and with three vertical reeded and sunflower centred splats, the beaded arms with scrolled rosette carved terminals above a padded crimson damask covered seat on square tapering chanelled and beaded legs headed by rosette tablets and with block feet, four chairs stamped 'H G', five labelled 'FRANK PARTRIDGE WORKS OF ART 26. KING ST. ST. JAMES'S AND NEW YORK', the pair similar with leaf carved oval backs, one with replaced front rail, the four side chairs similar each with an oval beaded and leaf carved back, padded drop in seat and bowed chanelled and beaded front rail, one of the four inscribed to back rail 26.3.46 The set of six each 36¾ in. (94 cm.) high; 23½ in. (60 cm.) wide; 22 in. (56 cm.) deep The pair of armchairs 37 in. (94 cm.) high; 25 in. (63 cm.) wide; 23½ in. (60 cm.) deep The side chairs 37½ in. (95 cm.) high; 27½ in.
