A SÈVRES (LATER-DECORATED) 'JEWELLED' CYLINDRICAL TEAPOT AND COVER with an ear-shaped handle, the white ground reserved with a broad dark-blue band enriched with gilt oeil-de-perdrix and with an undulating band of gilt foliage enriched with green, red and white 'jewels', between bands of beads and ciselé gilding, the waisted shoulder with turquoise and red 'jewels', the flat cover with similar decoration (finial restored, two small chips to footrim, minute wear to gilding), imitation gilt interlaced L mark enclosing letter P, the decoration circa 1840 4¾in. (12cm.) high
