A SILESIAN (HERMSDORF) ENGRAVED GOBLET AND COVER, the flared funnel bowl engraved in tiefschnitt with four scantily draped winged putti in flight holding luxuriant swags of fruit, flowers and shells and aquatic plants, one putto with a flaming torch, and with birds and a butterfly in flight above, the lower part with a bowl of fruit, a scantily draped winged putto reaching out to the fruiting swag, a boar leaping towards the flowering swag and with two sheaves of corn, small birds, a mouse and a large ladybird on the grasswork frieze, set into a flared and fluted section with facet-cut rim above a faceted knop, the cut inverted baluster stem with stylised stiff leaves and the foot with a band of dentil ornament to the rim and radiating flutes to the underside, the domed cover with winged putti holding similar swags, the later replacement silver ring finial formed as a snake on radiating foliage (slight chip to rim of flared section), 1710 - 1715, the engraving perhaps workshop of Friedrich Winter 29cm. high overall
