A silver and gilt-brass German Augsburg dial by Johann Martin Willebrand (1714-1742), early 18th century silver hour band set in gilt-brass ring with engraved floral motif divided 3-12-9 , subdivided to the quarter-hour, gilt-brass gnomon, engraved hand pointer for latitude, shaped gilt-brass latitude arc [ 0° ]- 90° subdivided to 2°, shaped and decorated gilt-brass support for brass plumb bob, silver dial plate and compass with four-point rose SE , OR , OC , ME , gilt-brass compass base with table of latitudes for 36 cities, three gilt brass bun feet, shaped and decorated gilt-brass brace for plumb bob support, signed Johann Martin Willebrand a Augusta 48 , in black-leather octagonal case with orange-silk lining 2¼in.
