A Six-Case Inro [Medicine Case] Unsigned, Edo Period (Early-Mid 19th Century) Rounded rectangular with applied himotoshi ; brown lacquer ground; decoration in gold and silver takamaki-e with red underpainting, and shell; compartments, risers and rims plain brown lacquer; unsigned; gold lacquer ojime in the form of Fukurokuju; carved hardwood manju netsuke applied with writing utensils in relief and signed Rensha Cranes, an egret and reeds 4 7/16 x 1 5/16in. (11.3 x 3.4cm.)
