A small Regency brass-inlaid ebonised four-glass mantel timepiece , the gilt engraved dial signed Arnold 84 Strand London 500 on the Roman chapter ring, with blued moon hands and engine turned centre, fine foliate engraving beneath, the four pillar single chain fusee movement with maintaining power, gilt platform with cut bi-metallic compensated balance (broken staff) to underslung lever escapement, the plain backplate signed Arnold, London. 500 , the case with glazed viewing aperture to the stepped top, brass-lined glazed sides, the moulded base on gilt-brass bun feet (one lacking) -- 7¼in.
