A SOUTH GERMAN POWDER-FLASK IN THE MANNER OF SCHWÄBISCH-GMÜND AND WÜRZBURG Late 17 t h Century With circular figured wooden body formed in two parts around a central tubular hole and carved in high relief with five hounds entwined in combat with a boar and a stag, the carving continued in low relief over the greater part of the inner face, a moulding of turned concentric rings at the centre, fitted with pierced gilt-brass top of cusped outline, engraved tapering nozzle carrying a spring-lever cap, a pair of gilt-brass rings for suspension, and in fine condition throughout. 6 3/8 i n (16.2cm)
