A SUBSTANTIAL BRASS FIRE FENDER LATE 19TH OR EARLY 20TH CENTURY The central strigulated urn flanked to each side by female sphinxes supporting laurel festoons on a moulded base externally 48cm high, 162cm wide Provenance: Dreweatts, An Eye for Luxury: East Meets West: Day 1, 23rd January 2018, Lot 238, sold for £1,900 excl. BP Condition Report: Wear, marks, knocks and scratches as per age, handling, use, and cleaning. Generally in seemingly good polished condition- but has some tarnishing coming through and dirt build up. The reverse of central raised frieze section is not detailed/cast- right hand internal edge with 2 vacant screw holes. However, all lots are of an age and type which means that they may not be in perfect condition and should be viewed by prospective bidders; please refer to Condition 6 of the Conditions of Business for Buyers.
