A TRANSITIONAL ORMOLU-MOUNTED TULIPWOOD AND MARQUETRY COMMODE by Martin Ohneberg with canted moulded rectangular grey marble top above two drawers inlaid sans traverse with three trompe l'oeil panels decorated with writing implements, one with letter signed R. D. M., and a teapot and vases above a panel decorated with a ribbon-tied musical trophy flanked by a pair of panels decorated with neo-classical vases, the sides with conforming decoration, with waved apron, between canted angles with simulated fluting, on cabriole legs and scrolled sabots, restorations, with fragments of transport labels, stamped M. OHNEBERG twice, one partially obliterated, and JME once, the marble broken and repaired 36½in. (93cm.) wide; 33in. (84cm.) high; 17in. (43cm.) deep
