A VERY RARE PAIR OF PINK-ENAMELLED 'PHOENIX' JARDINIERES AND STANDS
A VERY RARE PAIR OF PINK-ENAMELLED 'PHOENIX' JARDINIERES AND STANDS QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795) Each of rectangular section with canted corners, finely enamelled to the exterior on each facet with a pair of confronted archaistic phoenix amidst flower scrolls, divided by a musical stone tied with ribbons and suspended above a lotus bloom, all surrounded by linked foliage at the sides, the everted mouth rim decorated with stylised flower scrolls within a lipped border, supported on four slightly splayed ruyi -head feet, the base with a circular hole for drainage, exterior base and interior with turquoise enamel; the conforming low trays similarly decorated 7 3/8 in. (18.8 cm.) wide (2)
