A Victorian ebonised and gilt-brass mounted striking and repeating eight day five-glass travel clock E.I. Dent, London, No.15051. Mid 19th Century The case with bevelled glasses to top and sides, moulded base raised on shallow feet, with tapering square section ribbon-tied handle, gilt sight ring to arched gilt-brass dial mask engraved with foliate scrolls, white enamel Roman dial signed E.I. DENT/LONDON , blued steel Breguet hands, the movement with twin chain fusees, maintaining power, large gilt platform for cut bimetallic balance and underslung lever escapement, strike on gong and with repeat button to the side, the back plate with strike/not strike lever, hand set and rear winding arbors, also signed Dent/LONDON/15051 , secured to the case with brackets to the base board; winding key numbered 15052 , case key 9 in. (23 cm.) high, handle down
