A Victorian engraved castletop vinaigrette, of shaped oblong or serpentine outline with a view of Chatsworth House on the cover, against a rayed background, the base engine-turned, with a central scroll cartouche inscribed "Mrs Smyth", pierced scroll grille and gilt interior, by David Pettifer, Birmingham 1851, 1.5in x 1.2" (4 x 3cm), 0.75oz.
