A VICTORIAN FAMILY GROUP OF SIX TO CAPTAIN IVOR ELIOT PEYTON AND OTHERS. A group of six comprising an Indian Mutiny Medal unnamed, on a Hunt and Roskell buckle type suspension. An India General Service Medal with Pegu clasp named to 'Ensign Wm Peyton 9th Regt. MNI'. A similar award unnamed with North West Frontier clasp on Hunt and Roskell buckle suspension. A 1914-15 Star named to '2. Lt I.E. Peyton S. Notts HRS' and War Medal and Victory medals named to 'Capt I.E. Peyton'. 2nd Lieutenant I E Peyton is recorded with the Nottinghamshire (South Nottinghamshire Hussars) Territorial Force as a temporary Captain whilst Deputy Assistant Director of Labour with a seniority date of 18th December 1914. By the end of March 1917 he is recorded at the War Office working with Commands and Staff at the Headquarters of Administrative Services and Departments. Later with the Territorial Force Reserve. Mounted individually in a glazed case by Harrods. I.E. Peyton is not listed on the Indian Mutiny Medal roll, a Michael Peyton is listed with the 75th Foot, perhaps a relative. With a Second World War pair comprising 1939-45 Star and War Medal, both unnamed as issued, in Harrods glazed display case. With a collection of family accessories includeing Ivor Peyton's Boodles Club leather card case, cigar case, three photographs, one in Royal Artillery unifrom, a small collection of buttons and badges and a dog tag for Ivor Eliot Peyton F.3 The Albany and as Lnd Lieutenant in the 2nd Mounted Division.
