A Victorian mahogany two-day marine chronometer with unrecorded balance auxiliary Charles Frodsham, No. 3218, circa 1860 The silvered dial signed CHARLES FRODSHAM. 84 STRAND LONDON No. 3218 , Roman hour numerals within outer minute dial with Arabic five minute intermarkers 60-5-10 et seque, By appointment to the Queen testemonial garter (at X) and that for Gold Medal of Honour Paris Exn. 1855 (at II), gold hour and minute (repaired) hands, subsidiary seconds dial with blued steel hand and up-and-down dial with gold hand, top-plate inscribed Charles Frodsham. LONDON , cut bimetallic balance with unrecorded auxiliary comprising two thin bimetallic sections each mounted at the outer end of the balance cross-arm, and with reverse lamination steel to the outside convex surface and brass to the inside concave surface, each with heavy brass screw protruding through the cut-gap space in the main balance rim, foot spring detent with jewelled locking stone, gimballed in bottom section of original three-tier brass-bound mahogany box 95 mm. dial diam.
