A Victorian sculpted terracotta model of the Diana of Gabii, third quarter 19th century, by Blashfield and modelled after the Antique, the rectangular base stamped J.M.Blashfield 65cm high CATALOGUE NOTES: The original work, possibly after a Praxitelean forerunner was rediscovered in 1792 by Gavin Hamilton on the property of the Prince Borghese at Gabii, not far from Rome.
