A WHITE JADE ' CHILONG ' PLAQUE MING DYNASTY (1368-1644) OR EARLIER The plaque is of bi form, pierced through the centre and flanked on either side with two openwork writhing chilong . Each sinuous chilong is detailed with bifurcated tails and incised to their flanks and shoulders with cross-hatching and scrolls. The flat underside is decorated with incised scrolls. The stone is of a white tone with opaque buff markings at the edges. 3¾ in. (9.4 cm.) long
