the oval pebble carved as a pair of peapods suspended from an openwork vine, the smaller pod resting against the larger, three leaves and a coiling tendril carved in high relief falling over the pods, the details naturalistically rendered with soft undulations to the tender leaves, subtle rounding where the peas press against the shell, and minute ridges on the stringed edge of the pod, the stone an even icy white tone Length 3 in., 7.6 cm
