The title of this well-known Dali work translates to ''Horse Saddled with Time''. Explanations of the piece reference Dali's preoccupation with time and state that Time itself is the rider of this dreamlike horse. It forces the viewer to acknowledge their own sense of mortality. The bucking horse is saddled with Dal�'s infamous melting clock, a symbol which first appeared in his 1931 work, La persistance de la m�moire.
