III, 1902, no. 35). RARE epic poem of famous Italian battles fought at Ghiara d'Adda, Padua, Brescia, Ravenna and Vicenza from 1509 to 1521. The woodcuts are signed ZA and IBP/IB. At least some of the work formerly attributed to Zoan Andrea has been reassigned to Giovanni Antonio (cf. Mantegna , Royal Academy Exhibition, 1992, no.47); Mortimer rejects Essling's identification of IBP with Giovanni Battista Porta (cf. Mortimer, Harvard Italian 411). Three of the woodcuts had been used earlier in 1521 by the same printers for an edition of Boiardo's Orlando inamorato (reproduced in Essling, vol. II, pt. I, pp. 132-3).
