The lot also includes the following items from Albert Arthur Allen's studio: 17 additional 8 x 10 silver prints depicting nude female models posing, some from Allen's various series, such as the Boudoir series; Alo Studies, Vols. I & III, published by Allen Art Studios in Oakland, CA; and 4 booklets / order forms for Alo Studies, Vols. I, II, & III, plus an order booklet for different nude and landscape photographic studies produced by Allen. In addition, the collection includes 125+ photographs of female nudes dating from the early 20th century, ranging in size from 2.5 x 3.75 in. to 8 x 10 in., with 25+ prints from the Alta Studios of San Francisco, CA. The Alta Studios produced series of nude photographic poses intended to replace living models as aids to artists, designers, and sculptures. Condition: Some scattered wear to photographs; one of the Allen photographs is ripped in half; some scattered edgewear to photographs.
