Album kept by Lady Mary Beauclerk, Viscountess Deerhurst and Countess of Coventry, containing verses, letters and drawings by Sir William Gell and his circle, mostly pasted in, but some drawn directly into the album, evidently kept in Rome and possibly Naples during the 1820s and early 1830s, with newspapers cuttings pasted in throughout (subjects include Belzoni, the Peterloo Massacre, the trial of Queen Caroline, the Fonthill sale, Parry's polar expedition, etc.), together with coloured Swiss costume and military engravings, silhouettes, gouache views of Vesuvius, etc., half calf, marbled boards, label on upper cover 'The Countess of Coventry', some scuffing and wear, tears etc., the letters and verses mostly trimmed, typed label on inside cover "This Book is the propert [sic] of Baroness Lilford, Hesking Hall...", 4to, [c.1820-1833]
