Evans 2630 A rare detailed report from Hamilton, concerning loans obtained from France, including payment schedules as well as remarks on currency conversion and interest. This report is one of many issued by Hamilton (see lots 29, 30) in early 1793 in answer to House resolutions filed by Republicans at the end of December 1792 in an attempt to discredit him and his administration with the goal of removing him from office. Led by Jefferson and House Republicans, they viewed his handling of foreign loans as corrupt, and sought numerous crushingly detailed reports seeking to uncover misused funds. The first copy of this report to be offered at auction in over 50 years. Rare.
