Alexander Skunder BoghossianEthiopian 1937-2003The Creation signed and dated 1967 (upper right); titled (on the stretcher)oil on canvas88 by 115cm., 34½ by 45¼in.Framed: 90 by 117cm., 35½ by 46in.Condition report Structure: Canvas appears original and unlined. The excess canvas along the right hand edge does not fully reach the reverse of the work, however, this does not affect the tautness of the canvas and it is secure. This work is stretched and framed. Surface: The surface of the work exhibits some light networks of craquelure throughout which appear to be stable. The cracks are most visible within the yellow areas and within the upper left hand quadrant of the work (only noticeable on very close inspection). Handful of small black/dark grey surface marks in places, for example, within the yellow orb in the upper right hand quadrant and scattered along edges. These are only noticeable on close inspection. Minor wear to edges. UV Report: Inspection under UV light reveals no clear signs of restoration or repair. Overall, the work appears to be in good and stable condition.
