Friend, 1895. 8vo., cricket vignettes on title and preface leaf, contemporary limp green calf, preserving original wrappers. Provenance : PRESENTATION COPY TO CHARLES PRATT GREEN (inscription on limitation leaf; bookplate) -- G. Neville Weston [then sold to:] -- Epworth, where purchased by Eagar (according to his own catalogue note). ONLY SEPARATELY-PUBLISHED EDITION of the first bibliography of cricket. No. 6 OF 25 COPIES signed by the author. C. P. Green, the recipient of this copy, was one of eight authorities to whom proof sheets of the bibliography were submitted (see preface). Together with a 9-line ms. letter from the author to C. J. Britton; signed and dated 104 Hollingbury Park Avenue, Brighton, 8.10.25, this enquires after his health ("I heard you had a nervous break down"), and remarks on his successful sale of "Wisdens ... by wire an hour after 'The Cricketer' came out ...
