Alvin silver-overlaid Rookwood presentation cup Print Circa 1893, Providence, RI, in the Art Nouveau style, with heavily rubbed maker's mark and standard mark and impressed partially rubbed Rookwood mark to underside of sterling silver-clad feet, marked to one foot ''Alvin Mfg. Co.'' and ''S????'', the curving conical Rookwood vase painted with carp on a yellow-green ground, within a pierced three-handled mount chased throughout with scrolling foliage and flowers and inscribed to lower reserve ''Ut Pigmus Amicitia / Presented To / John R. Waters / By His Late Associates / At American Lloyds As A Token / Of Their Regard And Esteem / -From- / George C. Clarke / David S. Walton / Charles J. Follmer / Leo H. Wise / George A. Stanton / Jan 1st 1894'', 7.825'' H x 8.75'' Dia., Provenance: Estate of Francis Crunk, Altadena, CA. Condition: Approximately five cracks extending from rim to base of vase ranging from approximately 5'' to 7'' long. Scattered scratches and nicks to pottery; the largest approximately .125'' x .125''. General light marks, scratches and tarnishing to mount commensurate with age.
