Beschreibung:

CGC certified: VG+ (4.5). Off-white to white pages. Cover: Gil Kane John Romita. Story and art: Roy Thomas Gil Kane Frank Giacoia. 1st appearance: Morbius the Living Vampire. GPAnalysis: A 4.5 copy was sold for $659 in September 2021. In February 1971, the Comics Code was revised to be somewhat less restrictive, which resulted in Marvel's 1970's spate of supernaturally-themed characters, of which Morbius was the first. The updated Code now allowed for depictions of "vampires, ghouls and werewolves... when handled in the classic tradition such as Frankenstein, Dracula, and other high-calibre literary works written by Edgar Allan Poe, Saki, Conan Doyle and other respected authors whose works are read in schools around the world." — Amy Kiste Nyberg, Seal of Approval: The History of the Comics Code. University Press of Mississippi: 1998. A limited edition of 150 softcover and 15 hardcover catalogues is available. 400 lots, fully illustrated. Fun reference, great keepsake. Softcover $30, deluxe hardcover with dust jacket and limitation plate $200. Ten of the 15 hardcovers are pre-ordered and the rest will go quickly, so reserve yours now. To order, contact [email protected] . Consignments welcome for PBA's December 2021 Comic Book sale. Top prices for Pre-Code Horror, Golden Age, Silver Age, original art and ephemera.
