Hymn 266 (“The Kingdom – National”) in Clarence A. Barbour, editor. Fellowship Hymns, First Edition (followed by many re-printings from 1912 to 1945). Original cloth binding. 321+33pp. According to Fuld (1966), the Bates poem was first printed in 1895 and the music, composed for different lyrics, in 1888, but this YMCA imprint was “the earliest known printing of the poem and this music together.” (See other listings in this catalogue of early imprints of famous American music) Lot Amendments Condition: Ink owners notation on front pastedown and YWCA rubberstamp on flyleaf; marginal stain at top of some text pages.
