Title: American Engineer and Railroad Journal - set Author: [Basford, G.M., editor, et al.] Place: New York Publisher: M.N. Forney Date: 1893; 96-99; 1909 Description: 6 bound volumes. With: Vol. LXVII, 1893; Vols. LXX-LXXIII, 1896-99; and Vol. LXXIII, 1909. Each complete with 12 monthly issues per yearly volume. Profusely illustrated throughout from photographs, engineering drawings (some fold-outs), images from engravings (including many trains, parts, equipment), figure drawings, etc. 11½x8¼, uniform period half dark green calf and mottled boards, spines lettered in gilt, marbled endpapers. Formerly published as The Railroad and Engineering Journal as established in 1832. This new series incorporates The American Railroad Journal and Van Nostrand’s Engineering Magazine. Excellent reference series containing railroad news and advances in locomotive technology accompanied with numerous illustrations of machines, parts, locations, etc., etc. Gilt imprint “Société des Ingénieurs Civils de France” and their old inked inventory labels on spines. Also, occasionally, the rubberstamp of French Civil Engineers Society found within. Lot Amendments Condition: Some scuffing to leather, mild edge wear, a few spines a bit faded; contents clean and fine, exteriors good to very good, bindings still tight. Item number: 177920
