Late 19th-century polished calf gilt, gilt arms of the Dukes of Newcastle on sides (a few light scuff marks), gilt edges. Provenance : Dukes of Newcastle (armorial on sides). LEWIS, Percival. Historical Inquiries, concerning Forests and Forests Laws, with topographical Remarks, upon the ancient and modern state of the New Forest, in the county of Southampton . London: for T. Payne by J. M'Creery, 1811. 4° (294 x 234mm). Half title, engraved frontispiece, double-page engraved map, coloured in outline, good wide margins. Late 19th-century polished calf gilt, gilt arms of the Dukes of Newcastle on sides (a few scuff marks, a little rubbed). Provenance : Dukes of Newcastle (arms on sides). With George Lyttleton's The History of England (London, 1802, 4 vols.) and John Noorthouck's History of London (London, 1773, 34 plates only), both with the same provenance as the above. (7)
