An 18 Karat Yellow Gold, Platinum and Diamond Cheveux d'Ange Necklace, Van Cleef & Arpels, France, Circa 1955, consisting of a herringbone style necklace with tapered fringe surmounted with a central platinum criss cross motif plaque containing 45 round brilliant cut diamonds weighing approximately 2.39 carats total. Stamp: VAN CLEEF ET ARPELS MADE IN FRANCE NY 34926-1. 78.00 dwts. Estimate $ 22,000-28,000 The necklace measures approximately 14 1/2" in length and 3/8" - 3/4" in width. The fringe elements are intact and move smoothly and fluidly. There are no visible signs of repair to the metal. The clasp fits securely. The stamp and number are both clear and legible. Diamond Characteristics (graded in setting) Color: F-G Clarity: VS1-2 Cut: Very Good to Excellent Condition: Scattered minor chips under 10X magnification
