The Shah is here to undergo medical treatment. The Royal couple plan to spend about two months in the United States”, dated 10 December 1954; (ii) “Iranian Shah to return to his homeland... Rome, Italy... Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi of Iran in temporary exile in Roma, reads Maj. Gen. Fazzollah Zahedi's message to the press. Zahedi, Iran's new premier, gave Mossadegh 24 hours to surrender and declared “then we will wait for the nation to say what should be done with him”.
