An album containing over 80 photographs of Pahlavi state visits and Royal ceremonies, including photographs of Queen Soraya, original and press photographs [various locations, c. 1950-1970] single album with 84 loose photographs mounted with corner-pockets, all black and white or sepia, some with original copyright stamps and press announcements, others small-format photograph, some mounted on card, varying sizes from 60 by 90 mm. to 270 by 220 mm.; house in modern album, bound black buckhram with silver-coloured panel and gilt Pahlavi crown to upper cover Some highlights include: (i) “Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi of Iran and his wife, Queen Soraya, are shown chatting with actor David Wayne, after seeing the star perform in “the Tea house of the August Moon”, at Martin Beck Theatre. The Shah is here to undergo medical treatment. The Royal couple plan to spend about two months in the United States”, dated 10 December 1954; (ii) “Iranian Shah to return to his homeland... Rome, Italy... Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi of Iran in temporary exile in Roma, reads Maj. Gen. Fazzollah Zahedi's message to the press. Zahedi, Iran's new premier, gave Mossadegh 24 hours to surrender and declared “then we will wait for the nation to say what should be done with him”. The Shah told newsmen in Rome that he will depart for his homeland tonight. Meanwhile in the Iranian capital, Tehran, royalist troops quelled an attempted demonstration by anti-monarchists in the strife-torn city today”, undated, event from 1953; (iii)“Her Imperial Highness, the former Empress of Iran, has written her autobiography, “Soraya”, just published by Doubleday ($4.50). The Persian Princess separates fact from fairytale in telling the story of her much pubicized seven-year marriage to Mohammad Reza, the Shah of Iran”, dated 10 December 1965; (iv) “The Shah of Iran and his wife, Empress Farah, get the personal attention of Walt Disney left, as they pose in the engine of a small train which operated in Disneyland...”, dated 25 April 1962.
