The 39 1/2 inch octagonal barrel with seven groove rifling in .46 caliber. Small brass fore-sight and open rear sight. Breech marked L. Griskey Phila, right side flat marked K/Henry. Bolster-converted lock signed Sharpe. Brass furniture comprising: fore-end cap; three ramrod thimbles; rocker-engraved counterplate; faceted triggerguard with rectangular finial; engraved patchbox, the pierced finial in the form of a Federal eagle with shield; buttplate with faceted and banded finial; rocker-engraved toeplate. Full striped maple stock of simple form with oval brass wrist escutcheon, the grooved cheekpiece set with a silver plaque engraved with the bust of a gentleman, possibly a president. Condition: Very good. Metal with dark patina and areas of light pitting with some heavier pitting at breech. Furniture with dark patina, the rear 1/2" of the toeplate missing. Stock with slight cracks and one chip at fore-end, few scattered light marks, paint remnants on cheekpiece and broken through at wrist.
