AN AMERICAN MAHOGANY AND STAINED PINE CHEST ON STAND MID 18TH CENTURY The chest with two short and three long drawers, on a stand with one shallow and three short drawers, on slender cabriole legs 167cm high, 98cm wide, 54cm deep Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and use Old splits and cracks, chips and losses, there are numerous woodworm holes The stain to the surface with wear and scratches that appear to reveal a lighter colour below, as inferred in the cataloguing this would appear to be largely pine that has been used for the construction of this piece and stained to simulate mahogany. The interior of the carcass and drawer linings are all pine. The top and base appear to be original to eachother, the handles are replacements throughout. There are no locks by design - the escutcheons giving the appearance of keyholes only. Please refer to additional images for visual reference to condition Condition Report Disclaimer
