An Associated Pair of George II Sterling Silver Sauceboats and Pair of George III Sterling Silver Sauce Ladles One marked William Robinson London, 1756, the other London, 1743, probably Thomas Whipham Each with shaped rim and leaf-capped scroll handle, raised on shell feet. Length of larger sauceboat 8 1/4 inches (21 cm), total approximately 26 ounces . C
Sauceboats marked William Robinson London, 1756 and London, 1743, probably Thomas Whipham Sauce ladles marked Thomas Chawner London, 1777 Length of second sauceboat: 8 1/8 inches each sauceboat appears to be in generally good, undamaged condition, however, one of the rear legs of one sauceboat is slightly pushed upwards creating an impression on the interior side of the bowl; each sauceboat sits nice and straight on a table surface; each is engraved with a tree motif on the exterior side of the body; each vessel has typical scratch marks to the interior side, consistent with age and usage; each vessel has different maker marks and date marks; the handle ends of the two ladles are engraved with the side profile bust of a man wearing a head scarf or bandanna; the hallmarks of the ladles are consistent, however, one is quite worn; the bowl of one of the ladles is misshapen, i.e., "out of round"
