AN AUSTRIAN ORMOLU-MOUNTED PARCEL-GILT AND EBONISED MAHOGANY AND IVORY WORKTABLE VIENNA, EARLY 19TH CENTURY, THE INTERIOR ADAPTED The circular hinged top set to inside and out with a mirror plate and enclosing an intricately fitted interior with compartments, secret wells and a variety of cut-glass, ivory, bone and mother-of-pearl sewing tools, the central pop-up compartment with mirrored architectural facade and side drawers, the base decorated with foliate swags, on downswept supports joined by a pierced basket and terminating in ball feet, the fitted interior largely contemporary but associated and adapted to fit 79 cm. high x 44 cm. diam.
