Lot Description: An Early 20th Century Brussels Point De Gaze Needle Lace Fan , mounted on pink mother-of-pearl, the net handmade, the flowers varied in species. Contained in a cream card fan box marked inside the lid for J Duvelleroy, LONDON, 167, Regent Street W. Guard length 9.5/8 inches or 24.5cm. Together with A Bone Fan, circa 1900 , the monture carved, pierced, and piqué with small steel dots. The cream gauze leaf is embroidered with a profusion of tiny silver sequin and star shaped spangles, creating a shooting star or comet and its trails across the night sky. (2) Condition Report: . First fan, a few tiny breaks in the net, unwashed cream in colour, no raised roses. Gauze fan, the first stick in from the right has been stuck to the guard and the gauze has a small split at this point. ARR: Categories: Fans
