March 1902) An Edwardian sterling silver ‘arts and crafts’ strawberry set, Birmingham 1903 by J. H. Garlick (reg. March 1902) Comprising a twin handled sugar bowl and cream / milk jug. Each of tapering undulating oval form, with wavy edge and scrolling bifurcated handles. The bodies with applied cut card work of interlocking strap work arabesques terminating in fleur-de-lis Each fully marked near handle. (2) Sugar bowl length – 16.5 cm / 6.5 inches Weight – 325 grams / 10.45 ozt This design of sugar and milk, along with an accompanying teapot, marked for 1902 by E.B is illustrated in Jones, K. C., The Silversmiths of Birmingham and their marks: 1750-1980. (1981), London: N.A.G. Press Ltd, P. 201.
